Otis is searching for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer that will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production and high-quality products. This role involves developing and implementing new manufacturing processes, improving existing ones, and troubleshooting production issues. They also collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the strategic direction of manufacturing operations.
On a typical day you will:
Process Development and Optimization: Designing, developing, and implementing new manufacturing processes, as well as improving existing ones, to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving production issues, including equipment malfunctions, process bottlenecks, and quality defects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with design engineering, quality control, supply chain, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes and to achieve production goals.
Mentorship and Training: Guiding and mentoring junior engineers and technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise to develop their skills and contribute to the overall team's performance.
Project Management: Leading and participating in manufacturing-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
Process Control and Monitoring **:** Implementing and maintaining robust process control systems to ensure consistent product quality and efficient production.
Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement initiatives, such as K aizen and LEAN manufacturing, to optimize processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Technical Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including manufacturing procedures, equipment specifications, and process control plans.
Budget and Resource Management: Participating in the development of manufacturing budgets and managing resources effectively to support production activities.
What you will need to be successful:
+ Bachelor's degree in Systems engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
+ Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, typically 8+ years including education, with increasing responsibilities.
+ Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
+ Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, statistical process control (SPC), and other relevant tools.
+ Experience with 3D software; ProEngineer, SolidWorks is desirable
+ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead projects.
+ Ability to travel up to 25%
