As a **Senior CVD Equipment Engineer** at **Micron Technology, Inc.** , you will be a key technical leader in the development, optimization, and sustainment of advanced chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes within our semiconductor fabrication environment. You will collaborate closely with multi-functional teams to drive improvements in yield, quality, and cost, while supporting the ramp-up of new technologies and equipment. Expertise needed to address equipment/process challenges, mentor engineers, and influence strategic decisions. This is a high-impact role that requires deep technical knowledge, strong analytical capabilities, and a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the development and optimization of CVD processes to meet performance, yield, and reliability targets.
+ Drive root cause analysis and resolution of complex equipment and process issues using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., FMEA, 8D, SPC).
+ Collaborate with process integration, yield enhancement, and manufacturing teams to implement cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.
+ Oversee new tool installations, qualifications, and baseline process development for CVD systems.
+ Define and maintain robust process control strategies, including recipe management and parameter optimization.
+ Evaluate and qualify new materials, hardware, and process technologies to support roadmap requirements.
+ Collaborate with equipment and material suppliers to ensure alignment with quality, cost, and risk management objectives.
+ Lead or participate in multi-functional task forces focused on yield improvement, defect reduction, and process stability.
+ Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to support team development.
+ Document and communicate technical findings, project updates, and strategic recommendations to partners and leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
+ 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with a strong focus on CVD or thin film deposition processes.
+ Demonstrated expertise in equipment trouble-shooting, process optimization, and statistical process control (SPC).
+ Experience working in a cleanroom environment with semiconductor fabrication tools.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or science subject area.
+ Hands-on experience with industry-standard CVD tools (e.g., Applied Materials, LAM, TEL).
+ Proficiency in data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, or MATLAB.
+ Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
+ Consistent track record of leading multi-functional projects or continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Familiarity with advanced failure analysis techniques and yield enhancement methodologies.
