    Job Description

    The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is home to 1 in 17 New Yorkers, providing affordable housing to 528,105 authorized residents through public housing and Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT) programs as well as Section 8 housing. NYCHA’s mission is to provide quality housing for New Yorkers that is sustainable, inclusive, and safe, while fostering opportunities for economic mobility. NYCHA employs approximately 12,000 workers who mange the backend and frontline operations of 177,569 apartments in 2,411 buildings across 335 conventional public housing and PACT developments.

     

    NYCHA’s Learning and Development (L&D) Department provides service coordination and delivery of training and professional development for NYCHA employees to do their jobs safely and effectively. Through operation of citywide training facilities, and a robust library of online learning materials, NYCHA L&D offers both technical training in building systems management, and leadership development courses that are customized based on NYCHA standard operating procedures. L&D’s mission is to prepare NYCHA employees for the roles they are in, and the roles they aspire to attain, while managing the wealth of knowledge that employees amass throughout their careers.

     

    L&D is currently seeking a Computer Systems Trainer to train NYCHA employees in the use of enterprise systems, including, but not exclusive to iWM, Maximo, Salesforce, Workday, Kronos, Genesys, etc. The candidate must be able to create, develop, revise, implement and facilitate courses that educate employees on the standard use of enterprise systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

     

    1. Deliver instruction to adult learners in a workplace setting on technology used at NYCHA, (iWM, Maximo, Salesforce, Workday, Kronos, Genesys, etc.)

    2. Conduct and facilitate computer training classes using instructor-led and online delivery modalities, that are in alignment with adult education delivery methodology.

    3. Create, revise and update training curricula. Design and write training manuals and learning materials, including e-learning content.

    4. Create PowerPoint presentations. Develop trainer's guides.

    5. Conduct needs analyses for employee training (e.g., creating and distributing surveys and/or conducting focus groups).

    6. Provide technical assistance to NYCHA staff in techniques, policies, and procedures.

    7. Maintain technical training equipment (computers, tablets, phones, etc.).

    8. Perform related training and administrative duties as required.

    Qualifications

    1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

    2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

    3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

    Salary Min: $ 62,868.00
