    Collins has an established classifier network whereby both Global Trade (“GT”) and non-GT employees have been trained to determine the export and/or import classifications of commodities, software, and technology/technical data on behalf of Collins. These classifiers determine classifications predominantly specific to the product line on which they work and have expertise.

     

    The Senior Classifier, Global Trade (GT) will support U.S. Regime Export and Import classifications across Collins Aerospace. The individual will be direct support to the Global Trade Classification Center (GTCC), reporting to the GTCC Lead, keeping up to date on changes to Trade Regulations that impact such classifications. This role is categorized as **hybrid** with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the scheduled assigned by the GTCC Lead.

    What You Will Do

    + Perform U.S. Regime Jurisdiction/Classification and Harmonized Tariff Classification across GTCC supported business units.

    + Engage on classification verifications, reclassifications, and transactional testing.

    + Support monthly internal transactional testing for US regime xClass functional areas of participant business units.

    + Train, develop, and mentor new and/or lower classifiers within GTCC.

    + Conduct JC/HS Training and Development of GTCC SME’s

    + Provide targeted classification related flow down for classifiers across GTCC.

    + Support turnback activity reporting, analysis and process improvement.

    + Participate in internal customer meetings to flow down classification efforts progress, status, and/or GTCC tactical support information.

    + Assist GTCC Lead and GTCC Team on projects, strategic activities, training, and other related activities.

    Qualifications You Must Have

    + Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field

    + Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

    + U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

    Qualifications We Prefer

    + 2+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office, including word and excel

    + Preferred Technical or Engineering degree A working knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR - 22 CFR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR - 15 CFR)

    + A self-starter with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities Ability to learn and utilize many different application tools (SAP, SharePoint, Excel, Quantum, EASE, Access, Web based tools, etc.)

    + Able to work with minimum supervision due to hybrid status.

    + Ability to support explain policies, practices and procedures of the work area to others within the organization, influencing decision-makers with recommended courses of action.
