Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Design Engineering Technician. The Richmond, VA site specifically focuses in on cirtical power distibution for multiple segments; those including Utitlites, Data Centers, Hospitality, and Commercial Instiutions. The Design Engineer Technician offers a 40-hour paid week with hours being from 7:00am-3:30pm, full benefits, and 401K match plan.

The hourly rate for this position is $31.80 per hour.

What you’ll do:

The Design Engineering Technician will be responsible for assisting the Design Engineering Team with improvements to existing products and new product designs.

In this function you will:

• Work with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to ensure successful completion of design drawings and design drawing updates

• Assist Design Engineering Team with the development of process and product improvement ideas based on feedback from customers, suppliers, and production teams

• Participate in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) process

• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on implementation of product improvements

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or 1 year experience in a design engineering technician role

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineering technology certificate and/or associate’s degree in related field

• 1-3 years of experience as a design engineering technician

• Familiarity with full product design lifecycle

• Working knowledge of CAD software

Position Criteria:

• Willingness to participate or lead a multi-functional team.

• Willingness to learn and develop new skillsets as needed.

• Have an on-the-floor presence at all Richmond manufacturing facilities.

• Working knowledge of basic computer systems including but not limited to: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

• Must have excellent verbal and interpersonal relationship skills

• Ability to work independently conducting analysis for root cause identification and understanding how to identify problems and reach resolutions is beneficial.
