    Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Sector is seeking a Director of Codes & Standards for their Assemblies and Residential Solutions Group (ARS). This person will report directly to the VP Engineering for ARS. This person can be based in either Moon Township, PA; Charlotte NC; any Eaton office or a possibly a remote location.

    Position Overview:

    The Director will lead strategy for Codes & Standards for the ARS group and have three direct reports. This person will be responsible for developing and driving our code adoption strategy to increase use of Eaton's safety related products. The Director will lead the code making playbook for National Electrical Code (NEC) and ensure ARS product lines are developing products to support latest code changes. This person will also assume a leadership role with product standards organizations such as Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and industry trade organizations such as National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).

    Essential Functions:

    • Directly manage the full-time Codes and Standards employees within ARS and provide direction to all ARS product line members of standards committees like UL and NEMA.

    • Develop and maintain the ARS codes and standards strategy and playbook for execution working directly with ARS product lines in RWD, CPA and PDCA Divisions.

    • Engage with Connected Solutions and Energy Transition teams to identify and staff emerging technology codes and standards committees for UL, IEC, IEEE and cross-industry groups.

    • Drive adoption of the latest National Electrical Code versions at the state level with direct staff.

    • Influence the NEC code making panels to require the latest in safety related innovations and ensure ARS product lines are ready with commercialized products for implementation dates.

    • Attend and influence ARS product roadmaps to include growth platforms based on safety related products and build out a codes and standards campaign to support adoption. Challenge product lines to think in new ways around safety related growth platforms.

    • Monitor and defend Eaton interests in Codes and Standards committees. Provide early warning to product lines when new product requirements are being mandated by Codes and Standards or legislation to ensure product development is timely.

    • Serve as a single point of contact from ARS Group for the Electrical Sector Codes and Standards Center of Excellence and represent ARS at all Eaton codes and standards meetings and government affairs meetings.

    • Lead the Eaton position and voting during National Fire Protection Association technical meetings voting on final NEC proposals.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10 years exposure to Codes and Standards work. Exposure to NEC preferred.

    • Strong understanding of Electrical Safety, Grounding, Arc Flash, Ground Fault Protection, Arc Fault Protection, Short Circuit and Overload Protection.

    • Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

    Education:

    • An undergraduate degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.

    • Eaton recognizes this role as a critical position within the corporation and will create a compelling package consisting of a base salary, employee incentive compensation and complete benefits.

    • This person can be based in either Moon Township, PA; Charlotte NC; any Eaton office or a possibly a remote location.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $158249.97 - $232099.96 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
