    Job Purpose

     

    The Manager, Print and Mail Services is responsible for the development and support of Jackson's transactional print systems, print-on-demand environment, and mail inserting operations. The Manager directs Print and Mail Services staff and print/mail activities to ensure effective and efficient utilization of print and mail technology. Additionally, the Manager develops plans and strategies to improve processes, implement new technologies and methodologies.

    Essential Responsibilities

    + Delegates and prioritizes work within the department, troubleshoots issues and motivates staff to ensure production standards are met and/or exceeded.

    + Directs staff and is accountable for personnel actions including hiring, performance and salary reviews, coaching, corrective action, and terminations.

    + Provides leadership, team building, support, coaching, scheduling, and mentoring to their team across multiple locations, shifts, and including hybrid workers.

    + Identifies efficiencies and quality control measures to improve productivity and reduce waste for output production.

    + Identifies workflow and quality related issues that may impact Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).

    + Provides leadership and support with risk management in identification, reporting, and post incident follow-up.

    + Coordinate’s recovery activities during production outages, escalating to both IT and Operations teams as needed.

    + Provides leadership in the strategic planning with other Jackson leaders in the design and implementation of new processes and procedures in support of corporate initiatives.

    + Coordinates and leads projects for print and mail hardware acquisition, utilization improvements, and retirement.

    + Produces KPI reports for equipment usage and hardware related problems.

    + Coordinates the development of the department’s annual budget and maintains budgetary responsibilities.

    + Researches and identifies opportunities for improving production processes and quality assurance.

    + Supports the monitoring of the print and mail environment to ensure timely production of output. .

    + Identifies opportunities and champions improvements for processing outgoing mail in support of USPS rules and regulations.

    + Manages Third party vendor relationships, reviewing contracts and ensuring that Jackson is supported and that services are met in accordance with agreements.

    + Provides 24X7 on-call support for the Print and Mail Services group.

    + Reviews and updates the Disaster Recovery Testing strategy, policies, and procedures.

    + Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Proven decision-making skills along with excellent research, analysis, and organizational skills.

    + Project management skills and knowledge of SDM (Systems Development Methodology).

    + Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical and customer service skills with internal and external customers.

    + Knowledge in printing, mail inserting, and finishing technologies and their capabilities.

    + Knowledge and ability to manage staff and administer personnel actions including performance and salary reviews, hiring, corrective action and terminations.

    + Knowledge in USPS rules and regulations and the tools and services available.

    + Ability to distinguish between different color hues and patterns.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.

     

    5+ years of print and mailing experience required.

     

    supervisory or management experience required.
