POSITION DETAILS
The Queens Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) has been in existence since 1991 and is located in the Jamaica business district. The goal of the Queens EOC is to produce lifelong learners who are self-directed, empowered, and committed to excellence. Students and residents of the surrounding communities are provided a range of services designed to develop their academic, vocational and life skills necessary to become self-sufficient individuals. Program and services are structured to adapt to the needs of the community, and to serve as a readily accessible first step toward the attainment of long-term education/and or vocational goals.
The Enrollment Specialist reports directly to the Director of Student Support Services with responsibilities that encompass the areas of enrollment management, recruitment, admissions, student data management and student records. As a member of the management team, the Enrollment Specialist will provide input and, as required, research concerning retention, placement outcomes, employment trends and student demographics. Moreover, the successful candidate is responsible for the overall maintenance, security and integrity of the center’s student record keeping systems, the student information system, as well as the supervision of registration, recording of grades and verification of student records.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Maintain a working, practical knowledge concerning Queens EOC programs, policies and all procedural admissions requirements per EOC Guidelines.
+ Effectively provide oversight and management of secured student records within the student data management system. These include EOC eligibility, enrollment, program completion/graduation and program outcomes (i.e., employment, college admission, program continuation, employment and college applications).
+ Analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative student enrollment data to prepare timely management reports.
+ Provide verification of current student status, student records and transcripts for requesting agencies.
+ Assist in the coordination of and participate in recruitment and student admissions activities including open houses, program orientations, program advisement, information sessions and off-site presentations to partners and community-based organizations.
+ Support processes and procedures that record student grades, withdrawals, reinstatement, readmission and timely EOC term transitions.
+ Complete regular enrollment reports for submission to the Director of Student Support Services for administrator’s review and planning efforts.
+ Conduct market research in areas that are identifiable as possible program options.
+ Assist with the design of recruitment materials through participation on the Social Media and Communications Committee.
+ Work directly with program applicants, as necessary to achieve admissions requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business or an appropriate related field and four (4) years of relevant experience required.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree
Demonstrated understanding of and experience with using technology, including, but not limited, to social media, spreadsheets and database programs.
Strong written communication with extreme attention to detail
A high level of organizational and analytic skills

- Recommends and implements improvements to existing technical systems and office operations.
- Serves as resource reference to interpret and comply with University and College enrollment policies.
- Prepares and reviews student communication materials.
- May coordinate aspects of student entry from point of allocation to include orientation, advisement, and collection of admitted student documents.
- May supervise office operations and/or department budget
- Performs related duties as assigned.

$57,252 - $79,598 - Salary commensurate with education and experience.
