Assistant Cross Country/Track Coach

+ This position is for a NCAA Division 1 Assistant Coach in the sport of Cross Country and Track.
+ The primary focus of this position is to work with the middle distance and distance athletes and assist the Head Coach in all aspects of running a successful program.
+ The assistant coach will use independent judgment when recruiting prospective student-athletes, teaching and coaching a group of athletes (based on previous experience level), and execute the extensive daily administrative operations of the program.
+ The assistant coach will be evaluated on providing a meaningful experience for each student-athlete and assist in building a positive team culture throughout their time at Siena University.
+ This position is also expected to execute other program related duties as assigned by the Head Men's and Women's XC / Track Coach.
+ Student-Athlete Skill Instruction: Per experience level, the assistant coach will prepare individualized training instruction to athletes based on the overarching philosophy of the head coach. Plan training for a group of athletes that coincides with the race schedule.
+ Recruiting: Use judgment in identifying student-athletes capable of competing academically and athletically at Siena University. Manage and identify student-athletes through research, maintain communication, and build relationships with student-athletes for commitments to the program. Manage a database of prospects and maintain records of contacts in compliance with NCAA, conference, and institution regulations. Have an understanding of roster limitations and available athletic scholarships when bringing forth prospective student-athletes.
+ Administrative Responsibilities: Responsible for the coordination of a wide variety of administrative tasks which include, but are not limited to, team travel, meet scheduling, meet entry, equipment tracking and ordering, public relations, collaboration with communications and marketing for creative social media marketing to generate interest in the program, and fundraising.
+ NCAA Rules Compliance: Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to recruiting, eligibility, and general operation of the Men's and Women's XC and Track programs.
Annual Salary for this 10-month position: $51,120.00- Months off will be December 15 to January 15 and June 15 to July 15.

Job Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree, and at least one year of relevant experience are required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is required. Excellent knowledge of the techniques of the sport and excellent communication skills desired. College coaching and/or playing experience preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and insurability at the time of appointment and must maintain such license and insurability throughout the tenure of employment.
A background screening will be required.
