    This position is part of the Legal Department located in Fargo, North Dakota and will be on-site at one of Aldevron’s campuses. At Aldevron, we combine best-in-class products and service with the ideal operating environment to lay the groundwork for vital new discoveries worldwide. You will be a part of the Legal team and report to the Associate General Counsel responsible for Aldevron’s ethics, integrity, and compliance program.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    + Collaborate directly with Aldevron’s legal department, business leadership, R&D, and marketing to implement and grow the ethics and compliance program, including supporting contract review, drafting legal memoranda, and preparing regulatory filings.

    + Perform a wide variety of hands-on compliance and paralegal tasks, such as executing standard work, assisting with internal investigations, preparing documentation for audits, and maintaining records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

    + Draft, proofread, and manage legal correspondence and documents, including confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, and compliance certifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.

    + Support litigation and legal hold processes, including organizing case files, managing discovery materials, coordinating with outside counsel, and maintaining litigation databases.

    + Maintain and update legal and compliance systems, such as Legal Tracker and contract management platforms, while tracking deadlines, renewals, and obligations to ensure timely legal operations.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

    + A bachelor’s degree

    + At least 2 years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or equivalent education or experience in-house at a company or a combination of law firm and in-house experience

    + Strong intellect and a desire to learn accompanied with a high sense of urgency and self-motivation

    + Excellent knowledge of computers, especially skilled in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Word, Teams, and Excel

    + Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

    + Experience in and knowledge of the life sciences industry while working in a matrixed organization

    + Specialized legal software applications such as Legal Tracker, Navex, Bryter, Medius
