    Summary:

    This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and documentation of instruments, controls, HVAC systems, and physical security systems across Great River Energy’s (GRE) facilities. These systems include—but are not limited to—Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, video management software, card readers, cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), related software and firmware, and supporting building systems (e.g., HVAC controls, fire protection, AC/DC power systems). The role supports both operational and regulatory needs, with a strong emphasis on compliance with physical security related to North American Electric Reliability Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) standards.

    A typical starting range for this position is $53.42 - $62.85 hourly.     Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to

     

    + Lead or assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of associated GRE building systems such as: PACS and CCTV systems, Electrical systems, AC/DC power supplies, HVAC controls, Lighting system controls, Life Safety

    + Update and maintain NERC CIP-006 compliance documentation, including annual revisions to procedures and system drawings.

    + Perform annual Protected Security Perimeter (PSP) door testing and maintenance at designated sites.

    + Track and coordinate CIP-related system outages using Maximo.

    + Provide technical support for Corporate PACS (CAPACS) and site-specific PACS systems.

    + Triage all Security Operations Center (SOC)- reported incidents related to physical security equipment or facilities. Resolve issues in a timely manner commensurate with related risk and participate in the resolution of other physical security incidents as directed bymanager,facilities services.

    + Support the CAPACS application and backend servers, including patching, performance monitoring, and configuration updates.

    + Ensure optimal integration between PACS and video surveillance systems to support and enhance GRE’s physical security posture.

    + Manage the lifecycle of work orders, including assignments, progress tracking, and quality assurance.

    + Provide redlines or as-built markup drawings for all new security system installations or modifications.

    + Conduct pre-deployment testing of security applications on development servers prior to production rollout.

    + Maintain up-to-date versions of all related system software, including camera firmware, NVR firmware, VMS software, and access control software.

    + Troubleshoot PACS system issues and coordinate with IT, vendors, or contractors as necessary to resolve faults.

    + Execute hands-on installations of new PACS components including controllers, card readers, power supplies, and related network infrastructure.

    + Develop, document, and revise preventative maintenance procedures and maintain accurate system records.

    + Adhere to all GRE safety standards; promote and enforce safe working conditions for the crew during all job tasks.)

    + Maintain situational awareness of facility systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), life safety, elevators, and emergency systems.

    + Provide regular updates to the manager, facility services, on work progress, system status, and potential risks or required decisions.

    + Lead or support special projects assigned, including emergency repairs, vulnerability assessments, or technology upgrades.

    + Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot mobile security trailers to support site security across GRE facilities and project locations.

     

    Qualifications: Knowledge typically acquired through a two-year technical degree in electrical, computer, electronics or related field. Prefer a minimum of four years with building facility maintenance experience, with emphasis on instrumentation, HVAC, and development, implementation and support of electronic security systems. MN Boiler License preferred.
