    Job Description

    Shipping/Receiving Specialist works with Minnesota State Bookstores shared-services staff to perform the shipping, receiving, and stock maintenance of textbooks for multiple colleges at MN Textbook Center’s ecommerce facility. The Shipping/Receiving Specialist coordinates and works with the order fulfillment staff to provide streamlined services to serve students effectively and efficiently. Additionally, this position assists with Minneapolis College Shipping/Receiving in the absence of the College’s Shipping/Receiving Clerk.

    Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

    + Check in and sign for deliveries at the loading dock when received

    + Move all cartons/boxes from the dock/mailroom area and transport to the Textbook Center

    + Open all boxes and check packing slips against quantity received

    + Print receiving documents using the campus stores’ inventory control system and check in merchandise

    + Organize and maintain stock on shelves and in storage areas

    + Prepare outgoing shipments so they arrive at their destination in good condition and on time

    Salary Range:

    Central Services Administrative Specialist: $20.02 – $25.03 hourly / $41,802 – $52,263 annually.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Knowledge of shipping methods, costs, weight restrictions, and packaging.

    + Knowledge of inventory control, equipment, supplies, and commodities.

    + Knowledge of standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases sufficient to create, modify, and protect files.

    + Excellent customer service skills in order to answer questions professionally by phone, email, and other written or electronic correspondence to internal and external customers.

    + Ability to move heavy shipments and deliveries up to 50 pounds across campus

    + Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency, incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.

    Physical Requirements

    + Must have the ability to stand for up to 50% of the day (up to 80% for the shipping/receiving clerks) with frequent bending, lifting, maneuvering of carts and hampers.

    + Must have the ability to lift/move materials weighing 15-50 lbs on a daily basis.

    Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
