    General Summary:

    Are you passionate about turning data into strategic insights? We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to lead the implementation and management of Apptio platform, a top-tier Technology Business Management (TBM) framework.

     

    In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of enabling IT cost transparency, aligning technology investments with business goals, and driving data-informed decision-making. You’ll collaborate with IT, Finance, and Business teams to design TBM models, configure Apptio modules, and deliver insights that shape strategic planning and optimization.

    What You’ll Do:

    Lead Apptio implementation and configuration

     

    Build and maintain TBM models to support financial planning

     

    Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights

     

    Drive value realization through data transparency and analytics

    Proven experience with Apptio and TBM frameworks

     

    Strong analytical and data modeling skills

    Job Specifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in finance, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field

    + 5+ years of experience in data analysis, financial modeling, or IT Cost Management, preferably in IT or financial domains.

    + 3+ years of experience with Apptio and Technology Business Management (TBM) methodologies. Certified Practitioner preferred (TBM / Apptio Certification)

    + Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

    + Knowledge of ITIL, FinOps, or service management frameworks.

    + Familiarity with cloud cost management (AWS, Azure, GCP).

    + Strong understanding of IT financial management, budgeting, and cost allocation principles

    Preferred

    + Familiarity with IT Financial Management and cost optimization strategies

    + Experience with databases and data modeling

    + Experience with enterprise systems (ERP, CMDB, ITSM).

    + Experience working cross-functionally with IT, Finance, and Business Units; strong interpersonal skills.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Finance, & Key Stakeholders) to gather requirements, validate data, configure Apptio modules, and deliver actionable insights.

    + Translate business needs into data models and reporting structures in Apptio.

    + Support data integration efforts, including ETL processes from financial systems, CMDBs, and other data sources.

    + Analyze IT financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost optimization.

    + Support in the development of dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support strategic decision making – actionable insights.

    + Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across Apptio datasets.

    + Build and maintain documentation for data sources, models, and business rules.

    + Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to data ingestion or reporting.

    + Act as a liaison between IT, Finance, and key stakeholders.

    + Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to end-users.

    + Communication complex data concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences.

    The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

     

    $89,400.00-$183,500.00

     

    Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
