Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Managing Attorney to join a prestigious law firm in NYC. This firm generates $3 billion in revenue and caters to clients in key hubs of business, finance, technology, and government. The managing attorney will oversee the managing clerks office, providing expertise on procedural aspects of matters handled by the firms litigators. In this position, the managing attorney will serve as an expert in the New York office on federal and state court rules and procedures and have superior knowledge of New York CPLR.
Day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Advise litigation attorneys and other professionals on New York federal, state, and local civil practice, in addition to monitoring rules and procedures and staying informed of changes that affect the firms litigators.
Establish connections and maintain a good working relationship with clerks and judicial employees in the New York court systems to discuss filings and court procedures.
Manage and maintain firms litigation docketing and calendar controls. Lead efforts to improve and upgrade automated docketing, calendaring, and litigation records.
Review legal documents, providing feedback on both substantive and procedural issues, draft and submit routine legal documents.
Research procedural questions using all available sources, including case law, practice books, and online legal research tools.
Assist in the training of the litigation clerks and assistant managing clerk. Participate in hiring and evaluations of New York-based staff.
Contribute to firm knowledge management-related initiatives and assist litigators with obtaining documents for foreign filings, effectuating service, and performing office or attorney registrations.
This is a full-time position and will be based in NYC in the office 3 days a week, 2 days working remotely.
Compensation
The base salary of this role ranges from $180k-$290k.
This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.

Skills and Requirements
At least 10 years of experience as a managing attorney/managing clerk within a mid-large size firm located in New York
Prior court clerk experience in the New York state supreme or federal courts
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of litigation issues, rules, and procedures
JD and Admission to the New York State Bar Experience as a litigator
Experience managing direct reports null
