In this entry-level position, you'll perform routine yet essential technical tasks under general supervision, contributing to research efforts. Opportunities to Contribute
+ Assembles and operates technical equipment.
+ Sets-up and maintains equipment for the assigned laboratory and updates laboratory computers.
+ Maintains inventory and orders parts and supplies as needed.
+ Maintains laboratories according to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) specifications.
+ Provides logistical support with computers in the laboratory.
+ Performs laboratory and prep room cleanup.
+ Assists senior staff members in conducting major field experiments and consults in developing procedures.
+ Assists with the participant (subject) pool by recruiting, screening, and maintaining records on research participants.
+ Assists undergraduate and graduate students with their research projects.
+ Participates in training and professional development sessions as needed.
+ Assists Department Head with overseeing laboratory grant funding.
+ Assists department staff with supply ordering, grant tracking, administrative lab support, and grant reporting.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Two years of related experience.
+ Ability to lift and/or move medium weight objects.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
