**Location:** St Albans, WV
**Employment Type:** Full-Time
**Compensation:** $40,000–$45,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and financially savvy **Grants Specialist** to manage a diverse portfolio of public and private grants. This role is essential in ensuring accurate invoicing, compliance with funder guidelines, and effective budget monitoring. Key Responsibilities
+ **Financial Oversight & Budget Monitoring**
+ Track reimbursable expenses and ensure proper allocation of funds.
+ Monitor grant budgets to prevent over/underspending.
+ Review general ledger activity for accurate coding.
+ **Invoicing & Revenue Recognition**
+ Prepare and submit timely invoices to funders.
+ Maintain documentation for audits and compliance.
+ Reconcile grant revenue and expenditures.
+ **Grants Lifecycle Management**
+ Assist in proposal development and budget preparation.
+ Coordinate post-award processes and maintain grant records.
+ Lead or support financial close-out of grants.
+ **Compliance & Reporting**
+ Ensure adherence to funder regulations and internal policies.
+ Provide interim and final financial reports.
+ Respond to audit and monitoring requests.
+ **Systems & Process Improvement**
+ Enhance internal tracking systems and documentation processes.
+ Support integration between financial and grant management systems.
Qualifications
+ 3+ years of experience in grants administration, finance, or accounting.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ Familiarity with Sage, DonorPerfect, and Concur preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of nonprofit or governmental grant environments.
Skills & Competencies
+ High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Ability to interpret complex grant regulations.
+ Collaborative mindset and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
