    *_Job Summary:_*

    Performs accurate simulation and/or delivery of prescribed ionizing therapeutic radiation under the direction of a radiation oncologist and adhering to radiation safety guidelines using a variety of complex techniques and equipment. Performs daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance procedures. Prepares immobilization devices.

    Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.

    *_Essential Functions_*

    * Prepare and construct immobilization and treatment devices

    * Position patients for simulation and treatment with accuracy according to the radiation oncologist prescription

    * Preform daily warm-up and QA according to practices and standards.

    * Reports machine and equipment problems to manager, physicist, and field service engineer.

    * Review pre-therapist checklist which includes but not limited to informed consent, prescription, diagnosis, patient chart and parameters, and patient ID before initiating treatment

    * Follow ALARA

    * Efficiently, coordinates patient schedules to optimize resources.

    * Preforms chart review and reports any issues to physician, physics, and manager

    * Interacts with internal and external customers professionally

    * Preforms all hospital required reading according to the hospital guidelines

    * Preform all OBI functions such as CBCT with efficiency

    * Efficient with ARIA

    *_Minimum Education_*

    * Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry or Radiologic Technologists.

    * BLS required

    *_Minimum Work Experience_*

    One year current experience as a Radiation Therapist preferred.
