Summary
The Associate Dean has administrative, teaching, and scholarly responsibilities. The teaching component of the role may include teaching courses or the supervision of clinical groups of students. The Associate Dean is responsible for the direct management of the nursing programs including the organization, implementation, assessment, and curriculum development to meet ACEN, ACCSC, New Hampshire Board of Nursing, or other state standards. The Associate Dean may have direct supervision of faculty or may be responsible for student support services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
+ Demonstrates leadership and provides direction for faculty and students.
+ Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the program curriculum to support outcomes.
+ Develops classroom/clinical schedules each semester and assures placement of student in appropriate clinical settings.
+ Teaches courses and supervises students in clinical settings as needed.
+ Uses teaching strategies appropriate to learning needs, desired student learner outcomes, content, and context.
+ Counsels, supports, tutors, and conducts disciplinary steps for individual or groups of students.
+ Orients new faculty and mentors existing faculty
+ Collaborates with clinical sites to develop partnerships and clinical experiences for students.
+ Epic access in order to supervise students in clinicals.
+ Other duties as consistent with this role.
Job Requirements
Job Knowledge and Skills
+ Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation preferred
+ Experience working with faculty preferred
+ Knowledge of ACEN and NH Board of Nursing standards
Education and Experience
+ NH RN license or eligibility to obtain an RN license in New Hampshire required
+ 3 years of relevant teaching and academic administrative experience preferred
+ Approved by the NH Board of Nursing as an AD instructor preferred
+ Earned Master’s Degree in Nursing or higher required
+ Earned Doctorate in Nursing with strong emphasis in nursing education and academic administration preferred
+ Certification in specialty area, nursing education, or administration preferred
