Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in full-cycle payroll processing and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll calculations, tax compliance, and multi-state payroll processes.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll efficiently, including generating paychecks, paystubs, and facilitating direct deposits.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and employee records.

• Calculate and process federal and state payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with all regulations.

• Prepare detailed reports and complete necessary documentation for audits, verifications, and employee benefits.

• File and remit monthly and quarterly payroll taxes within required deadlines.

• Manage quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, including forms such as 940, 941, W-2/W-3, and 1099.

• Ensure payroll calculations are accurate and compliant with applicable wage and tax laws.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve payroll-related discrepancies or issues.

• Stay updated on changing payroll regulations and implement necessary adjustments to processes. Requirements • Proven experience in payroll processing within a fast-paced environment. • Comprehensive knowledge of tax laws, wage laws, and payroll compliance requirements. • Proficiency in full-cycle payroll, including multi-state payroll processing. • Strong experience with payroll systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members. • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
