JOB TITLE: Clinical Director - New LIFE House
POSITION GRADE: $62,790 - $80,000 (commensurate with education, licensure, and experience)
DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: New LIFE House /Residential Services (OASAS 820 reintegration program)
SUPERVISOR: Chief Program Officer
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Chief Program Officer, the Director of LIFE House will provide strategic and operational leadership to the LIFE House community reintegration program. The Director will lead the planning and execution of strategy, operations, financial management, compliance, quality of care, and evaluation of outcomes for LIFE House (OASAS licensed). The Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining plans, systems, adequate staffing, policies, and processes to optimize the program’s financial stability and positive impact on lives served. This position requires a true strategic and collaborative business partner with other program leaders as well as support department leaders to maximize access for clients to these services, and additionally other related services they may enroll in at Villa of Hope (Clinic, Health Homes/Care Management, etc.). The Director operates the program in alignment with Value Based Payment principles, including regulatory compliance, risk management, staff development, and program budgets. Externally, this position represents LIFE House and the Agency in the community and with regional and statewide licensing bodies and coalitions. Carries out all job responsibilities with attention and intention to fostering a workplace environment and organizational culture consistent with Villa of Hope’s Mission, Vision, and core values – especially the Sanctuary Model and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging. Exercises full compliance with the Agency’s Code of Conduct, all other Agency Policies and Procedures, and Council on Accreditation (COA) standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Exercises full compliance with the Agency's Code of Conduct, all Agency policies and procedures and Federal and State laws and regulations.
+ Reads and becomes familiar with applicable regulations (OASAS, NYSJC, etc.) and agency policy/procedure.
+ Maintains confidentiality and security for all client and staff related materials and/or records.
+ Facilitates daily programming to promote each individual’s recovery needs.
+ Directs and participates in the cleanliness and upkeep of the residence, reports needed repairs to the Facility Operations.
+ Supervises medication in accordance with agency policy and procedure, reports medical problems, and follows medical directives.
+ Provides a safe environment for clients and staff utilizing the Sanctuary Model and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
+ Shares on-call responsibilities as part of the on-call system.
+ Employs approved TCI crisis intervention/prevention techniques utilizing accepted practices per Agency policy.
+ Monitors bed utilization and occupancy, including referrals, admissions, discharges, and billing compliance requirements for full reimbursement of services rendered.
+ Leads and participates in therapeutic groups as well as recreation and leisure time activities.
+ Transports clients as needed to community resources.
+ Demonstrates, promotes and practices diversity, equity and inclusion in relation to clients and staff through respect and understanding achieved through training, individual supervision, and Agency cultural activities.
+ Develops relationships with each client conducive to promoting recovery as well as community reintegration.
+ Coordinates and approves staff schedules, time cards , and time off requests all in accordance with OASAS regulations.
+ Supervises Life Skills Instructors to maintain for each client the daily log and all applicable documentation for program operations.
+ Supervises clinical staff and other duties as needed.
+ Implements treatment methods and directives with each individual client.
+ Participates in department treatment team meetings weekly and administrative and community meetings.
+ Reviews and signs off on all treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and case conferences presented at treatment team meetings.
+ Reviews and approves all admissions into the LIFE Program and conducts the admission with client and family on the day of admission
+ POSITION SPECIFICS:
Education: Professional license (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC) and/or Advanced CASAC or Masters CASAC required.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a behavioral health field. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting.
Skills: Ability to take a leadership role with Life Skills Instructors and clinical staff. Ability to engage clients and families individually and in groups. Strong organizational skills. Staff development and team-building skills. Creative problem solving. Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Other: Valid NYS driver's license required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The following lists physical demands an employee will perform on a regular basis: standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and climbing; Must be able to perform a variety of household tasks, climb stairs, move throughout the cottage or group home, work cooperatively in a team environment and quickly respond to emergencies.
This position requires successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, which includes a written test and demonstration of the competency to perform physical interventions, as specified by the program and regulatory body. Additionally, staff must successfully complete all required TCI refreshers in order to maintain continued employment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training: the ability to drop repeatedly to knees, twist and turn, exert oneself physically at an intense level, and support another adult’s weight. Position also requires employee to transport clients utilizing an agency vehicle.
