Description We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Immigration Attorney with expertise in family-based immigration to join our team on a contract basis. This role involves helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of immigration law while providing compassionate and detail-oriented legal services. Based in Houston, Texas, this position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients' lives while managing a diverse caseload.

Responsibilities:

• Handle family-based immigration cases, including I-130 petitions, Adjustment of Status (I-485), K-1 fiancé visas, consular processing, and waivers such as I-601 and I-212.

• Prepare and submit petitions and applications to appropriate agencies and consulates.

• Represent clients during interviews with immigration authorities and in immigration court proceedings, if necessary.

• Conduct initial client consultations to evaluate legal options and develop effective case strategies.

• Maintain thorough and accurate case records in the firm's case management system.

• Communicate effectively with clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

• Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of legal documents.

• Keep up-to-date with immigration laws and regulations to provide informed legal counsel. Requirements • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active bar license in good standing, valid in at least one U.S. state.

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in immigration law, specifically in family-based immigration cases.

• Strong familiarity with immigration procedures and family-based processes.

• Proficiency in a second language, such as Spanish, is highly preferred.

• Exceptional legal writing, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases independently and meet deadlines effectively.
