Description We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Glen Allen, Virginia. This role will play a critical part in designing and implementing data solutions that support the Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence functions. As a senior technical expert, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create resilient, scalable, and efficient data systems, ensuring seamless data integration and analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust data solutions following best practices for data warehouse architecture.

• Develop and optimize data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes into the Enterprise Data Warehouse.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Design and create complex business intelligence reports and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Python.

• Validate and test code to meet business and architectural standards, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

• Troubleshoot data systems, resolve technical issues, and implement enhancements to improve performance.

• Work within an Agile framework, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and collaborative development efforts.

• Support and occasionally lead initiatives related to data analytics, governance, and quality improvement.

• Document technical processes and maintain up-to-date product documentation.

• Conduct and coordinate unit and system integration testing to ensure accuracy and reliability. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent relevant experience.

• At least 7 years of experience in information technology, preferably in financial services or highly regulated industries.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data warehouse development and related technologies.

• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and movement.

• Strong understanding of data dictionaries, relational databases, and data analysis techniques.

• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in collaborative, iterative environments.
