Senior Accountant – Investment Valuation & Fund Oversight
• Menlo Park, CA | Hybrid Schedule
• $125,000–$150,000 (Depending on Experience) + Annual Bonus Potential (up to 20%) + Phantom Equity Plan + Unlimited PTO

The finance function plays a critical role in maintaining that legacy. The team is expanding and hiring a seasoned fund accountant who can help enhance operational efficiency and oversee quarterly valuation processes. Position Overview
As the Senior Accountant, you’ll be responsible for leading the quarterly valuation cycle, supporting fund-level financials, and serving as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners. This role offers hands-on exposure to investment data, fund structures, and performance tracking across multiple strategies.
You’ll join a lean but experienced finance team, working closely with investor relations, operations, and the firm’s leadership.
Requirements
Your Key Contributions
Portfolio Valuation:
+ Conduct quarterly assessments of investment valuations using industry-standard methodologies
+ Build and refine models, supporting assumptions with robust data inputs
+ Document and communicate valuation findings to internal leadership, external auditors, and committees
Fund Accounting & Reporting:
+ Assist in the close process, including preparation and review of financial statements and partner allocations
+ Coordinate audit processes and prepare key documentation
+ Review capital call and distribution calculations and support investor reporting
+ Support cash management strategies and planning across fund entities
+ Mentor junior staff and contribute to process improvements
Background We’re Looking For
+ Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ CPA license is preferred
+ 3+ years of experience in public accounting (ideally with clients in venture capital, private equity, or asset management), or current in-house experience at a fund
+ Deep understanding of ASC 946 and ASC 820
+ Hands-on experience with fund financials, valuations, and audit cycles
+ Strong modeling capabilities in Excel; familiarity with systems such as Investran, Intacct, or QuickBooks is helpful
