    Description

    A mission-driven church organization is seeking a Content Writer to craft thoughtful, inspiring, and informative content that reflects the values, voice, and mission of the church. This role focuses on writing for websites, newsletters, devotionals, event promotions, and social media, while ensuring alignment with the organization's faith-based messaging.

     

    Note: Candidates must reside in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone to be considered.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Write and edit original content for blogs, newsletters, devotionals, ministry updates, event promotions, and social media

    + Collaborate with ministry leaders and church staff to translate ideas into clear, engaging written materials

    + Ensure all content reflects the church’s values, theological alignment, and tone of voice

    + Support sermon series or campaigns with written summaries, guides, or study materials

    + Assist in maintaining and updating content on the website using a CMS

    + Proofread and fact-check content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications:

    + 2+ years of professional writing experience (faith-based writing experience preferred)

    + Strong storytelling and copywriting skills with a portfolio of written work

    + Ability to write in a clear, engaging, and compassionate tone

    + Familiarity with SEO best practices and basic web content structure

    + Excellent grammar, spelling, and attention to detail

    + Must be located in the EST timezone

    Preferred Experience:

    + Experience working with churches, ministries, or nonprofit organizations

    + Familiarity with church culture and Christian terminology

    + Understanding of biblical principles and sensitivity to theological messaging

    + Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress)

    + Basic knowledge of design tools like Canva or Adobe (a plus)
