Description We are looking for a dedicated Controller to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a long-term contract position offering an exciting opportunity to oversee financial operations, lead accounting functions, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring a strong sense of leadership, integrity, and accountability while managing financial processes and supporting organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and collections.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy in income statements, balance sheets, account reconciliations, and general ledger analyses.
• Prepare and manage cash flow reports, projecting financial needs on weekly and monthly intervals, and overseeing daily cash management activities.
• Implement and refine cash management strategies to ensure timely billing and prompt collection of receivables.
• Present detailed monthly financial reports and insights to the executive team and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate in the creation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, and monitor progress on a monthly basis.
• Evaluate and improve accounting systems and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to departmental staff, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment.
• Assist in audits and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and financial regulations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in senior accounting roles such as Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Assistant Controller.
• Experience working in large organizations is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in financial tools and systems, including PeopleSoft and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing, and general ledger processes.
• Expertise in month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
• Ability to balance high-level strategic functions with day-to-day accounting operations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with executive teams and operational staff.
