Plant Accountant is responsible for the support and execution of the day-to-day accounting and finance functions of the business for assigned plants. Partners with the operations management team to provide analysis and support relating to daily production activity and reports up through the operations management chain on an ad-hoc basis. Overall responsible for the tasks as assigned and coordinated with Operation Finance Management team.
Main areas of responsibilities of the position:
+ Month-end close functions
+ Fixed asset reviews
+ Capital project closing
+ Cycle count procedures for spare parts inventories
+ Periodic stockpile surveys reconciliation
+ Slow moving inventory quarterly adjustment
+ Bulk material purchase price variance analysis (periodic)
+ Periodic tax reporting as needed including sales and use tax
+ Periodic tax department requests
+ Weekly forecasts – Comparison of budget vs actual
+ Monthly inventory backflush review
+ Bi-annual lease review analysis – property and equipment review
+ Annual business insurance requests
+ Daily spending activity review
+ Monthly reporting –Key statistical figures, Outage reporting, Variance analysis
+ Monthly operations presentation development
+ ARO analysis
+ Lease vs. buy analysis
+ PD project review less than $1 million
+ Development of overhead cost structure/review of purchase price/BOM analysis
+ Preparation and review of standard costs
+ Review of maintenance costs per hour
+ Use of financial system in Power BI
+ Internal stripping credit analysis and oversight – Overburden and Cap Rock
+ Annual budget preparation, analysis and presentation
+ 7+5 forecast preparation and analysis
+ 3-year operating plan review
+ Ad-hoc requests from Operations & Regional Controller
+ External audit analysis
+ Business partnering with SOM’s & AOM’s – Plant Management
+ All other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills:
+ High attention to detail & analytical skills
+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations
+ Ability to write reports and business correspondence
+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, customers and the general public
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills enabling the individual to work effectively with various levels of organizational management, across functional areas in both the corporate office and operating locations
+ Demonstrate high level of proficiency with computer operation and software systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office and various modules within the corporation’s SAP ERP system

Basic requirements (Education, Level of Experience, Language)
+ Level of Experience: 5+ years
+ Fluent speaking and writing English
+ Obtain a bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance and/or Other Business-Related Degree
+ CPA/CMA or Other Similar Professional Certification (Preferred)
