    Adecco is hiring a contract Material Handler II for our Pharmaceutical Lab partner in Ann Arbor, MI.

     

    The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $21 and $21.50. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

    Lab Services provides a single source for coordinated lab service, support and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.

     

    The position is focused primarily on scientific support services within Lab Services core offerings of order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, chemical tracking, and glass-wash operations.

     

    • May perform some of the job duties below:

    • Perform laboratory services such as glassware collection/cleaning, biological waste collection/sterilization.

    • Delivers direct shipment orders to end users/ performs deliveries as required.

    • Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements without the presence of site trainer and management team.

    • Listens to customer concerns, diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times.

    • Embraces Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.

    • Represents Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, professionally and positively.

    • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

    Culture and Expectations

    • Bio waste bag collection

    • Glassware collection and cleaning

    • Some areas require steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glasses

    • Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, facemask, safety gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes.

    • Will be working out of multiple buildings on site connected indoors – no outside travel

    • Deal with chemicals that come from the labs as well

    • Would be using a pallet jack

    Requirements

    • 1-2 years of equivalent experience required ( material handling experience, Prior lab experience working around a lab)

    • Must be able to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs.

    • Extensive walking may be required (walking 6-8 miles a day)

    • Proven customer service skills

    • Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environment

    • Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    • Basic Computer understanding

    • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

    • Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Fisher!

    • Must possess a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to take care of various levels of personnel at the customer site.

    • Must possess strong communication skills and customer focus to deliver excellent customer service including maintaining a professional appearance at all times.

    • Must possess strong analytical skills to reconcile various reports to ensure customer requirements are met.

    • Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed.

    • Must be able to use a computer and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.

    • Works primarily at customer locations, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments. May be required to work independently at customer location.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in laboratory setting or services preferred

    • Pallet Jack Experience

    • Computer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint- Basic Skills)

    Degree/Certifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Comments:

    M-F 7:30AM - 4:00PM

    **Pay Details:** $21.00 to $21.50 per hour
