This position is eligible for teleworking , which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective hire date.

Position Objective:
The purpose of this position is to manage the activities and transaction processing in alignment with the BSC strategy and vision for a single process within General Ledger Accounting. The Supervisor GAFA is responsible for managing team workload and resources, compliance with Service Level Agreements, and supervising, training, and developing team members.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage the processing of accounting transactions in accordance with the MTA Policy, GAAP, and any other mandated requirements .
+ Manage team workload, resources, and schedules to deliver timely, quality Finance services for a single process within General & Technical Accounting.
+ Transaction entry in PeopleSoft and the service request management tool .
+ Perform / Process / Review bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis.
+ Inquiry documentation, research, and resolution that meet customer expectations .
+ MTA and BSC policy, practice, and procedure compliance .
+ Cyclical and period end processing activity support .
+ Ensure all month end and year end transactions and reviews are done in a timely manner.
+ Work with External Auditors to provide documentation and respond to inquiries for audits.
+ Project activity support including: requirements gathering, functional design & configuration, testing, training design, development & delivery, post production support .
+ Manage client relationships and provide satisfactory customer service .
+ Maintain talent in the team, including performance, staffing levels, and competencies .
+ Maintain an appropriate level of process, functional, and technical knowledge and participate in training to continue to develop such knowledge .
Required Qualifications:
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's Degree with relevant experience in Business or a related field.
+ Minimum 5 years' experience in General Accounting.
+ Minimum 3 years in directing/monitoring employees or processes.
+ In-depth knowledge of Finance processes, specifically in General Accounting.
+ Working knowledge and use of PeopleSoft or related database software to perform and support process activities.
The F ollowing is/are preferred:
+ Experience in applying GAAP to business operations.
+ Understanding of MTA Finance policies, practices, and procedures as it applies to monthly and year-end close process.
+ Familiarity with performance metrics andthe ability to meet identified targets.
+ Working knowledge of service request management tools.
+ Working knowledge and use of office productivity tools (e.g., MS Office applications) and web-based applications.
+ Knowledge of Shared Services.
