Summary:
+ Lead the Global NPI procurement team and activities to establish sustainable results across the new products portfolios, encompassing cost optimization, supply chain resiliency, continuity of supply and quality requirements
+ Identifying opportunities for value capture through the Product Life Cycle, growth plans of the products, to establish global leverage with internal plant capability and external suppliers’ competencies aligned with Global Category strategies and Supplier Engineering
+ Collaborating closely with R&D, AO, Operations, Quality and Procurement Leadership to develop and implement an organizational vison, structure, and strategy to provide clear lines on communication accountability, and responsibility to support the growth of the business
+ Provide leadership and management to a team of NPI professionals based across different geographies (globally).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Understand future pipeline of new products and develop roadmap for sustaining / growth through its Product Life Cycle, identifying future value capture opportunities for Dual Sourcing, Process development, CapEx Investment for capacity / capability and future commercial growth benefits
+ Complete RFQ’s / Negotiations for all new products aligned with Category Strategies / Supplier Engineering Contract Management for NDA’s, Development Agreements at early product concept stage
+ Partner with R&D, AO, and Quality to evolve companywide processes to optimize where possible
+ Support all New Product Launches to ensure seamless transition into manufacturing, to develop focused supply base to support future growth
+ Facilitate supplier feedback for design / cost and review commercial implications with internal Stakeholders
+ Identify opportunities for awarding business for in-house manufacture and / or the selection of suppliers aligned with Category Strategies
+ Conduct Market analysis for new products / processes incorporating Supply Chain Assessment, Cost Modelling, Contract Management and Supplier negotiations. Understanding markets and supplier trends that drives year over year cost reduction through levers such as RFQ, hedging, contract, value analysis, lean, negotiations, etc.
+ Recognizes opportunities to maximize savings and increase efficiencies through shorter cycle times, lean activities, first time quality measures, and process mapping, and incorporate changes accordingly into NPI
+ Formulate and implement processes to build a best in class NPI organization
+ Mobilize teams to deploy proactive risk mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing, IP acquisition, market assessments, supplier's financial assessments, social responsibility, environment, ethics etc. as it relates to NPI
+ Ensure cost standards are established for annual operating budgets at the initiation / launch of all NPI products
+ Resident expert in NPI procurement practices and serves as a mentor to others
+ Organize and lead NPI scorecard review meetings and executive business reviews with senior stakeholders
Requirements:
+ 10 years of related experience and a bachelors degree in supply chain, operations, engineering or equivalent.
+ 4+ years of people management experience
+ 7+ years in medical device experience preferred.
+ Commercial acumen preferred
