    Position Summary

    A career as a HR Business Partner will allow the opportunity to work closely with Human Resources Leadership team and provide direct HR support to assigned business units, as well as contribute to teams that are driving transformation throughout SJI. These roles develop a solid understanding of the business and work closely with managers to implement innovative solutions that drive performance while creating an engaging environment. You will provide strategic HR support and consultancy to managers in all aspects of talent management, performance management, employee relations, total rewards, and program management as well as lead and implement key programs/changes focused on building an enduring organization positioned for growth. These programs may include mentoring; learning and development; total rewards/compensation programs; employment branding; and supporting HR platforms and systems.

     

    In addition, this role will work closely with leadership to evaluate current staff, identify high potential employees, support succession plans, and generate workforce plans that enable the strategy of the business and bring a global/broader viewpoint to all programs and systems. This role is highly visible and acts as a trusted advisor for People Strategy.

    Essential Duties:

    + Operate as a strategic partner for business units and support initiatives to enhance our commitment to People Strategies.

    + Responsible for supporting workforce planning, talent management, leadership coaching, change management

    + Supporting a developed and growing organization through conversations to understand the complexities around the specific necessities.

    + Assimilating the business into the broader organization by understanding how its functions intersect with the overall company’s functions and goals.

    + Partners with leaders to proactively address and resolve employee relations issues and provide coaching to managers on conduct and performance issues, guiding them through the discipline and performance improvement process.

    + Partners with leadership, practice areas and departments across the organization to drive strategy.

    + Be the front facing liaison between business unit leaders, employees and HR to drive strategy and enhance customer focus in delivery of people related activity.

    + Maintaining a high level of expertise of human resources functions through familiarity with processes and structures and applying appropriately to projects.

    + Act has a trusted advisor with focus on mitigation of risk

    + Guide the successful completion of cross-functional programs.

    + Assist talent assessment process across client groups and utilize in succession planning and career development discussions.

    + Manage full-life cycle employment through partnership with internal HR Practice Areas.

    + Understand and help guide financial budget decisions that are corelated to People related strategy.

    + Support ad-hoc requests related to people analytics, initiative and/or People Strategy projects.

    Required Skills:

    + Experience supporting Strategic, influencing business decisions as a HR Business Partner

    + Experience working in a corporate environment supporting large scale initiatives and enhancing innovation within a Human Resources function

    + Strong oral communication skills to work effectively with management and HR professionals

    + Project management skills to direct HR initiatives

    + Time management skills to meet key deadlines

    + Problem-solving skills to find solutions for organizational problems

    + Written communication skills to produce job descriptions, policies and other documents

    + Leadership skills to train and motivate organization strategy and development goals

    + Understanding of HR best practices and relevant employment regulations

    + Computer skills to use word processing, spreadsheet, email, HR and presentation software

    Qualifications

    Required Background:

    + Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or;

    + Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.

    + Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

    Compensation Range:

    $97,500 - 156,000

     

    We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
