Job Description:

This role contributes to Starbucks' success by preparing and inputting payroll data to ensure partners are paid accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll operations, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Daily Responsibilities:

+ Process payroll cycles (on-cycle, off-cycle, and separations)

+ Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders

+ Validate and apply payroll guidance accurately

+ Identify process gaps and recommend improvements

+ Ensure compliance with payroll policies and regulations

+ Provide clear explanations of payroll information to non-payroll partners

+ Follow best practices in payroll operations and escalate issues as needed

+ Identify learning opportunities to enhance team expertise

Team Interaction:

+ Highly collaborative with cross-functional teams

+ Supportive team culture where everyone has each other’s backs

+ Open environment that encourages questions and continuous learning

Key Projects:

+ Pay Mod Project: Support day-to-day operations (e.g., printing, cycle processing) to enable partners to focus on project execution

Required Skills & Experience:

+ 2+ years of payroll experience (full-cycle processing)

+ Proficiency in Excel and Smartsheet

+ Experience with multi-state payroll, garnishments, and time entry

+ Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

+ Analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and in a team

+ Excellent time management and ability to balance multiple priorities

+ Strong customer service orientation

+ High attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with SAP and SuccessFactors

+ Familiarity with federal, state, local, and/or provincial labor, payroll, garnishment, and tax laws

+ Relevant payroll certifications

Technology Requirements:

+ Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required)

+ Smartsheet

+ SAP (preferred)

+ SuccessFactors (preferred)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
