    Job Description

    As a Billing Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the financial operations by preparing, reviewing, and processing monthly invoices. You will manage account statuses and balances, ensuring accuracy and consistency in billing activities. Adhering to strict timelines, you will respond to client inquiries, review pre-bills, and generate accurate invoices while encouraging cyclical billing practices. Your dedication to follow up on unbilled accounts will ensure timely completion of all functions with high service levels. Additionally, you will assist the invoicing team and perform other accounting functions as needed.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare, review, and process monthly invoices.

    + Manage the status of accounts and balances through detailed reports.

    + Adhere to strict timelines and invoicing requirements prior to invoice submissions.

    + Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally.

    + Review pre-bills and generate accurate invoices.

    + Encourage cyclical billing practices.

    + Regularly follow up on unbilled accounts to ensure timely completion of functions.

    + Assist the invoicing team and perform other accounting functions as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-3 years experience in non-medical billing and customer account maintenance.

    + Strong understanding of accounting principles and billing.

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office.

    + Strong communication skills with internal and external partners/clients.

    + Ability to meet tight deadlines.

    + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Tech savvy with the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.

    + Ability to self-direct, prioritize tasks, and work with minimum supervision.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Work Environment

    This full-time position requires working onsite for five days a week, with an 8-hour workday and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. You will have flex hours from 7 am to 9 am, as long as it is a set schedule every day. The office environment consists of pit style cubicles, promoting interaction and collaboration. Employees enjoy free parking at a garage next to the office and proximity to the Bethesda Metro, just three blocks away.

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

     

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
