    Job Title: IV Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

     

    The IV Pharmacy Technician is responsible for mixing IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques. This role requires adherence to all documented instructions, warnings, procedures, and best practices to ensure the safe and effective preparation of drugs. Additionally, the technician performs environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities as mandated by applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking drug items in accordance with established policies and procedures.

    + Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for the patient's profile when available.

    + Clean the ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards and maintain clean room logs.

    + Verify lot numbers and perform periodic inventory checks.

    + Assist with On-Call responsibilities as needed.

    + Complete competency verification plan upon hire and annually thereafter, focusing on familiarity and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

    + Ensure confidentiality of company proprietary information and patient/client care information, complying with all federal and state laws related to the confidentiality of protected health information.

    + Follow HIPAA guidelines concerning readily identifiable protected health information.

    Essential Skills

    + Certified Pharmacy Technician certification

    + Compounding and IV preparation skills

    + Documentation and inventory management skills

    + Experience in pharmacy technician work and home infusion therapy

    + Ability to set priorities, work independently, and be an effective team member

    + Articulate communication skills and comprehension of written and verbal communications

    + Efficiency in fast-paced work environments

    + Proficiency in computer skills (Windows, Office)

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + State registration as a pharmacy technician

    + Preferred experience as a pharmacy technician

    + Preferred home infusion therapy experience

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a Closed Door Pharmacy with a team of 5 people. The dress code is business casual. The shift schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm, with on-call duties on weekends every 3 weeks.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
