Responsibilities

+ The incumbent maintains and documents all clinical equipment within any assigned facility. The position requires a working knowledge of hospital engineering functions.

+ Performs preventive maintenance and periodic safety inspections of all clinical devices, as required by JCAHO; NFPA and all State Health safety codes and other applicable regulations

+ Performs inspections of new clinical equipment ensuring safety and physical integrity completing required documentation

+ Employs infection control practices when handling any equipment, and uses universal safety procedures when working in patient care areas

Qualifications

Required:

+ Biomedical engineering technician in a hospital setting

+ 2 year Associates Degree

+ Driver's License: CA (AUTO:CA)

Preferred:

+ Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)

$64.98 - $64.98 /hour
