Responsibilities
In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy, the Senior Pharmacist is responsible for procuring, manufacturing, compounding, dispensing, distributing, storing and administration of drugs, biological, and chemicals according to standard practices of the professional, State and Federal laws and regulations, and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for provision of drug information to other health professionals, patients and their families, and the public. Functions as a staff pharmacist and acts as the Director of Pharmacy in the absence of the Director. Is responsible for the overall Purchasing of pharmaceuticals on a day to day basis. The Senior Pharmacist will supervise and instruct pharmacists and technicians when needed, and will be consulted by the director when pharmacy staff performance evaluations are prepared. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, is responsible for the total operation of the pharmacy in the absence of the Director. Essentially operates as a staff pharmacist with the additional responsibility of the entire purchasing of all pharmaceuticals for the Department. Responsible for staff functions when working an operational shift. Directly responsible to the Director of Pharmacy.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
+ RG PHARMST or PHRMDG
+ Ability to exercise sound and professional judgement in the performance of the job functions.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with strong attention to detail.
+ Ability to analyze complex tasks, systems, problems, and design and implement the most effective solution.
+ Ability to work tactfully and effectively with team members, the patient and their family, and the public.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, principles, methods and equipment utilized in providing pharmaceutical services.
+ Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Preferred Qualifications
+ ASHP accredited hospital residency preferred.
+ Oncology Infusion Center Oncology background strongly preferred and serves as Pharmacist in Charge.
+ Previous hospital experience preferred or approved residency.
+ Previous Oncology experience
+ PGY1 and/or PGY2 Oncology
+ BCOP

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist to join our dynamic and growing team to oversee the daily operations in one of three Oncology/Specialty Infusion Centers on the North Central Coast. This role requires a strong understanding of sterile compounding, chemotherapy preparation, regulatory compliance, and inventory management. Dignity Health is the only program on the Central Coast to offer comprehensive Cancer Care services. Our pharmacists work closely with our Medical Oncologists, community physicians and Oncology Nursing staff to provide optimal care and outcomes to the patients we serve.

Functions as a staff pharmacist and acts as the Manager/Director of Pharmacy in the absence of the Director. The Senior Pharmacist supervises and instructs pharmacists and technicians and will be consulted by the manager/director when pharmacy staff performance evaluations are prepared. Under the direct supervision of the Manager/Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the total operation of the pharmacy in the absence of the Manager/Director. Essentially operates as a staff pharmacist with the additional responsibility of the clinical, distribution, and regulatory operations of the Infusion Pharmacy Department. Responsible for staff functions when working an operational shift. Directly responsible to the Manager/Director of Pharmacy.
Pay Range
$68.76 - $99.70 /hour
