    Summary About the Position: This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre. On an as-needed basis, employees occupying these positions provide emergency support to disaster-stricken areas throughout the United States. Employees in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This position is a temporary position not to exceed (NTE) 1-year, however, at the discretion of management, the position may be converted to a term position up to a maximum not to exceed (NTE) 4-years. Responsibilities Coordinate and/or perform a variety of clerical and assistance duties involving the processing and maintenance of information for the agency. Perform duties related to training, travel, budget, and other administrative programs in support of the organization. Use office automation hardware and software and office machines extensively to accomplish tasks. Greet visitors and receive and direct telephone calls for the agency. Maintain time and attendance information as well as the calendar and track office expenses. Utilize office automation electronic systems to manage information and data to accomplish special projects, improve customer service and/or resolve a issue. Maintain the office Training Plans and records of completed training courses for the organization. Prepare documents for property book issues, transfers, and turn-ins for the agency. Make travel arrangements and prepare travel vouchers for the organization. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing duties related to training, travel, budget, and other administrative programs in support of the organization; using office automation hardware and software and office machines extensively to accomplish tasks; preparing documents for property book issues, transfers, and turn-ins for the agency; maintaining office files and schedule meetings for the agency; and processing office mail and preparing office correspondence for the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Clerical Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
