    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled 3rd Shift Controls Technician for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. The role involves PLC troubleshooting of down machines within the plant, working with PLCs, HMIs, ABB, and other automated equipment. You will be responsible for plugging in the laptop to troubleshoot software and programs on the machines. The position is on the 3rd Shift, with initial training on the first shift. Occasional weekend work is required, rotating up to two weekends a month.

     

    + Provide professional, expert-like support for new and existing automated systems.

    + Monitor and define areas of improvement within existing automated equipment.

    + Develop PLC programs and software for new and existing equipment.

    + Evaluate and specify hardware and software for automated equipment.

    + Work with Engineers to standardize automated and programming solutions across similar equipment.

    + Support engineering team members in the development of new processes for manufacturing.

    + Educate and train production support teams during equipment or software launch.

    + Research and develop new solutions for automated equipment.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC programming.

    + Experience with HMI, ABB, and robotics.

    + Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and plug in laptops on the controls of robots.

    + Strong skills in electronics.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Completion of schooling, classes, or certificates in a related field.

    + At least 2 years of experience working on automated machines performing PLC troubleshooting.

    + Experience with software updating and code modification.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
