    Job Title: Machine Operator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Machine Operator to join our team at a steel manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the production of steel and PVC pipes. You will be measuring screen/part dimensions to ensure they are the correct size according to the customer's order specifications. You will also handle the screens with great care. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate and Monitor Machinery: Set up, operate, and monitor machines used in the manufacturing of steel and PVC pipes, ensuring they function efficiently and produce high-quality products.

    + Machine Setup and Calibration: Calibrate machines according to production specifications and perform machine setups for different production runs.

    + Load Raw Materials: Load raw materials, such as steel coils and PVC pellets, into machines and ensure a continuous supply during production.

    + Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Report any quality issues to supervisors.

    + Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, make necessary adjustments, and perform minor repairs to minimize downtime.

    + Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machines to ensure their optimal performance and longevity.

    + Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in production and machine operation.

    + Proficiency in using hand tools and tape measures.

    + Ability to set up and calibrate machinery.

    + Strong attention to detail.

    + Excellent attendance and punctuality.

    + Strong work ethic.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
