Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
Join a dynamic sheet metal shop specializing in crafting frames for gas station signs and other products. Contribute to a team where precision and quality are paramount.
Responsibilities
+ Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements.
+ Write, modify, and optimize CNC programs using G-code or CAM software to produce complex parts.
+ Set up CNC machines, including installing tools, fixtures, and work holding devices, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
+ Perform machine and tool offsets to maintain accuracy and precision.
+ Operate CNC mills, lathes, or other machining equipment to produce parts within specified tolerances.
+ Conduct first-piece inspections and ongoing quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
+ Adjust machine parameters and tooling as needed to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
+ Maintain documentation of setups, programs, and production data.
+ Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Collaborate with engineers and quality control teams to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
+ Keep up to date with advancements in CNC technology and machining practices.
Essential Skills
+ Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, Setup Technician, or CNC Programmer.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CNC programs.
+ Experience with CNC programming software (e.g., Fusion 360, G-code editors).
+ Strong understanding of machining tools, fixtures, and tooling setups.
+ Knowledge of precision measurement and inspection techniques.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues independently.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
+ Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in machining or manufacturing preferred.

Work Environment
Work hours are from 5pm to 2am, Monday through Friday. Dress code includes jeans and steel-toed boots. Embrace a hands-on role in a facility that prioritizes safety and precision.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Watertown, South Dakota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $31.00/hr.
