    Job Title: Packaging Operator

    Job Description

    Join the team at a company dedicated to producing high-quality yeast. As a packaging operator, you will be at the heart of the production process, responsible for the efficient bagging and handling of products. Your role includes operating machinery to fill, weigh, and seal bags, ensuring they are ready for shipment.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment includes packaging rooms and coolers at approximately 50 degrees year-round. It is a damp space with strong yeast odors and FDA-regulated conditions requiring specific attire such as hairnets, beard nets, lab coats, ear plugs, and safety glasses (provided). Steel-toed shoes are required but not provided. Employees work on a 3 on 3 off schedule, either 7 AM-7 PM or 7 PM-7 AM, with no rotation between day and night shifts.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate machinery to fill, weigh, and seal bags.

    + Ensure bags are ready for shipment.

    + Lift 50lb bags repeatedly and manage physical tasks throughout the shift.

    + Maintain compliance with safety requirements by wearing protective gear.

    + Support quality control and maintain attention to detail.

    + Collaborate within a team environment to achieve group goals.

    + Maintain workplace cleanliness and perform housekeeping tasks during downtime.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly during the shift.

    + Basic mathematical skills for accurately weighing bags.

    + Commitment to quality control and attention to detail.

    + Ability to work in a team environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Willingness and ability to be trained and certified on forklift.

    + Compliance with food safety rules, including restrictions on facial hair, jewelry, and false eyelashes.

    + Ability to stand on feet for most of the shift in a hot work environment.

    + Steel or composite toe protective shoes are required.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
