    Job Title: Instrumentation Technician

    Job Description

    As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for calibrating, programming, installing, and troubleshooting smart process instrumentation, including temperature, pressure, and level transmitters and control valves. You will operate various types of machinery in the coke-making process and perform production and maintenance tasks to ensure maximum production quality and inspection.

    Responsibilities

    + Calibrate, program, install, and troubleshoot smart process instrumentation.

    + Operate machinery in the coke-making process.

    + Perform production and maintenance tasks to ensure maximum quality and inspection.

    + Lead maintenance activities with operating crew members.

    + Coordinate with others in calibration and process control loops.

    + Work with Distribution Control Systems (DCS) and loop tuning.

    + Handle PLC, hydraulic controls, and process analyzers for opacity, oxygen, combustibles, process gas, and chemical analysis.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with process control loops.

    + Knowledge of Distribution Control Systems (DCS) and loop tuning.

    + Proficiency in PLC, hydraulic controls, and process analyzers.

    + Instrumentation and calibration of industrial equipment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + PLC programming experience.

    + Experience with switch gear manipulation and basic knowledge of 440V and 4800V systems.

    + Understanding of plant power one-line diagrams.

    + Knowledge of low voltage systems.

    + Mechanical troubleshooting skills.

    + Experience with pumps, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

    + Relevant licenses and certifications.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is a heavy industrial setting requiring fire retardant clothing, steel-toed boots, hard hat, and safety glasses. You will work both inside and outside, sometimes in high areas, and will be exposed to diverse weather conditions, including summer heat up to 130 degrees. All necessary uniforms, boots, glasses, ear protection, and tools will be provided. You will work alongside another skilled tradesperson to ensure safety, collaborating with Millwrights to rig up equipment and complete tasks.     Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
