Job Title: PLC Technician

Job Description

This role requires a hands-on PLC Technician who will actively engage on the floor to perform general maintenance. The PLC Technician will support Facility Techs and Process Techs in operating blow molding machines, primarily focusing on troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues related to PLCs. The PLCs predominantly used are Siemens, and while experience with Siemens is preferred, other relevant PLC experience is considered valuable. The technician should be capable of editing code, adding or removing devices, upgrading systems, and troubleshooting PLCs. Additionally, assistance in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical (480V, 3-phase) and mechanical issues (hydraulics and pneumatics) is expected.

Responsibilities

+ Troubleshoot and problem-solve manufacturing issues primarily related to PLCs.

+ Support Facility Techs and Process Techs in operating blow molding machines.

+ Edit code, add/remove devices, and upgrade systems related to PLCs.

+ Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and mechanical issues.

+ Provide support for electrical issues (480V, 3-phase) and mechanical issues (hydraulics and pneumatics).

Essential Skills

+ Strong PLC knowledge, including editing, troubleshooting, and integrating.

+ Hands-on experience with electrical issues, specifically 480Volts, 3-phase.

+ Strong troubleshooting background with the ability to articulate thought processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with Siemens Controls.

+ Experience working on robots.

+ Ability to write code from scratch.

Work Environment

The work environment is a casual yet fast-paced manufacturing setting within a highly automated blow molding and plastic processing facility. The facility is clean and well-lit, with some lines manufacturing gas tanks more rapidly than others. The company promotes from within and encourages self-development. The shifts available are 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) and 3rd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 10pm-6am). Personal protective equipment required includes over-the-ankle steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avilla, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
