    Minimum Qualifications

    We seek a dedicated instructor and researcher who holds a Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field. The successful candidate will be expected to teach upper-level undergraduate physics courses for majors in physical science, instruct introductory physics lecture and laboratory courses, and contribute to the general education curriculum by teaching physical science courses for non-science majors. The candidate may also be assigned to teach mathematics courses to undergraduate students, depending on departmental needs. Preference will be given to applicants with prior college-level teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to student-centered learning, academic advising, and scholar activity.

    •Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, service, professional development, and scholarly activity.

    •Deliver high-quality instruction that fosters academic excellence across all assigned courses.

    •Submit course syllabi and learning objectives in accordance with university, college, school, and department guidelines.

    •Employ a range of effective, evidence-based pedagogical strategies.

    •Assess student performance and provide timely feedback and progress reports.

    •Participate in the periodic review and continuous improvements of course materials.

    •Maintain a consistent teaching schedule and hold a minimum of 10 office hours per week for student engagement, as determined by the Department Chair.

    •Exhibit a thorough understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of the College and the University.

    •Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to students within the Department of Department of Physical Science and the Division of Mathematics.

    •Attend faculty meetings and actively contribute to relevant departmental, school, college, and university committees.

    •Maintain subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development, including research, grant writing, scholarly publications, and presentations.

    •Conduct independent research and support student researcher initiatives.
