The Administrative Program Specialist A supports the Department and OMF by performing critical administrative and operational duties that help ensure the delivery of excellent customer service, in alignment with the mission and values of the Department and OMF.
The ideal candidate must posses the following competencies:

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Travel Responsibilities
+ Serves as the Travel Administrator for the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Trains staff on state travel regulations and ensures all employees obtain proper approvals and documentation before booking travel.
+ Plans and coordinates in-state conferences and meetings. Develops agendas, procures speakers, obtains bids and ensures compliance with State procurement and travel regulations.
Human Resources Support
+ Responds promptly, accurately and confidentially to internal and external employment verification requests. Maintains and updates the Department's employee directory including contact information, titles, and responsibilities.
+ Coordinates onboarding and introductions for new hires, including welcome announcements, onboarding schedules, and orientation activities.
+ Serves as the time administrator for the OMF ensuring all staff properly entered time and leave each pay period and comply with LDWF timekeeping policies
Procurement Assistance
+ Purchases necessary supplies and equipment for OMF operations. Receives and verifies purchases, maintains accurate records to ensure compliance with Department and State policies. Ensures purchases are assigned to the correct cost center, fund, grant, and WBS code; investigates and resolves discrepancies.
Strategic Planning Assistance
+ Assists the Business Analytics Specialist in creating surveys, compiling data, and administrative work in regards to the strategic planning process.
Position-Specific Details:
Job Appointment (a period that will not exceed four years) may be converted to Probational Appointment should funding become available.
This position will be located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
