Job Title: Technician

Job Description

As a technician, you will be responsible for reading construction design requirements to build trusses and wood panels in a yard setting. You will pick and stage lumber, cut it, and build components using hand and power tools. All instructions are conveniently displayed on TVs throughout the shop area, eliminating the need to hold or read physical paper blueprints.

Responsibilities

+ Interpret construction design requirements to build trusses and wood panels.

+ Pick, stage, and cut lumber for construction projects.

+ Build components using hand and power tools.

+ Follow instructions displayed on TVs in the shop area.

Essential Skills

+ Previous construction experience working with lumber and hand/power tools.

+ Ability to interpret written instructions.

+ Capability to repeatedly lift 50lbs and remain on feet for 8 hours at a time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in general labor, carpentry, concrete, and solar.

+ Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

+ Proficiency with tools such as drill, saw, hammer, nail gun, tape measure.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic shop/yard environment with 51 current employees, where each building has 8-10 crew members per shift. Enjoy a structured work schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a dress code suited for construction work that is weather dependent, including work pants, sweatshirt, gloves, and steel toe/carbon toe footwear.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmington, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
