Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled forklift operator to manage the loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight. The role involves sorting freight according to size and destination, decoding freight coding for efficient movement, and reconciling driver pick-up and delivery manifests. You will also be responsible for labeling, weighing, and dimensionalizing freight, as well as maintaining a clean and safe work area. Recording damaged shipments and misrouted freight is also part of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

+ Load and unload freight to and from vehicles and containers.

+ Sort freight according to size and destination.

+ Read and decipher freight coding to expedite movement and tracing.

+ Reconcile driver pick-up and delivery manifests.

+ Label, weigh, and dimensionalize freight.

+ Perform cleanup activities in the work area.

+ Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in operating forklifts.

+ Material handling expertise.

+ Inventory management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Certification as a Forklift Operator.

+ Experience as an Equipment Operator.

+ Skill in material counting.

Work Environment

The facility operates on various shifts: Sun-Wed, Wed-Sat, and Fri-Mon with options including 1st shift from 6:00am-4:30pm, 2nd shift from 4:00pm-2:30am, and 3rd shift from 10:00pm-8:30am. Work in a clean and modern environment equipped with the latest technology.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Independence, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $24.25/hr.
