    Position Purpose:

    The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will lead the development and execution of an integrated marketing and communications strategy that supports fundraising, programs, and mission visibility. This role will serve as the brand steward and storyteller for Winter4Kids—crafting compelling content, engaging stakeholders, building community awareness, and driving donor and participant engagement across all platforms.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

    + Minimum 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably in a nonprofit or youth-focused environment.

    + Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio of varied content.

    + Strong experience with digital marketing tools including CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), email marketing systems (e.g., Mailchimp), and social media scheduling/analytics tools.

    + Graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) a strong plus.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.

    + Passion for youth development, outdoor recreation, and Winter4Kids’ mission.

    Responsibilities:

    Strategic Communications & Branding

     

    + Develop and implement a comprehensive annual communications and marketing plan aligned with organizational goals.

    + Ensure consistent brand voice and visual identity across all channels and materials.

    + Collaborate with leadership to craft key messages for various audiences including donors, families, youth participants, staff, volunteers, and partners.

     

    Fundraising & Development Communications

     

    + Partner with the Development team to create compelling fundraising appeals, donor reports, event promotions, and stewardship materials.

    + Produce email campaigns, newsletters, impact stories, case statements, and campaign collateral.

    + Manage marketing and promotion for signature fundraising events (e.g., Peak4Kids: Quest4Kids, The Snowball Club).

     

    Program & Participant Communications

     

    + Support program staff with communications that promote enrollment, celebrate achievements, and elevate the youth experience.

    + Highlight participant stories, outcomes, and milestones across media platforms.

     

    Digital & Social Media

     

    + Manage the organization’s website, ensuring it remains dynamic, informative, and user-friendly.

    + Create and curate engaging content for social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) to build brand visibility and audience engagement.

    + Analyze digital metrics and adjust strategies to grow reach and impact.

     

    Public Relations & Media

     

    + Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.

    + Draft press releases, media kits, and talking points; manage press opportunities and coverage.

    + Position Winter4Kids as a thought leader in youth development and equitable access to outdoor activities.

     

    Internal & External Stakeholder Engagement

     

    + Develop internal communications to keep staff, volunteers, and board members informed and inspired.

    + Craft communications that reflect and respect the diverse voices of the communities we serve.

    + Support cross-departmental collaboration by aligning messaging and marketing efforts.

    Work Environment & Physical Demands:

    + Work is performed in a fast-paced environment.

    + This position requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping,kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.

    + The work is performed primarily indoors onsite except for occasional outdoor events/programs.

    + Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

    Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

     

    Annual Salary pay rate: UP TO $75,000
