Summary:

A Consumer Loan Specialist is a position which is responsible for processing consumer loan applications through the consumer lending origination process, fulfilling customer loan servicing needs, and assisting in collection efforts.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

+ Participate in the identification of and transition into alternative consumer credit origination and servicing systems

+ Highly customer focused position. Demonstrates a high sense of urgency in all activities to meet the needs of the customer in accordance with bank policies and procedures.

+ Manage a pipeline of consumer loan applications.

+ Assist customers in completing loan applications bank web portal or through bank-initiated applications and submitting to Loan Operations for documentation preparation

+ Interact directly with customers, internal partners such as lenders, underwriters, and processors.

+ Communicate by phone and email in a proactive, sales-oriented manner.

+ Deliver Consumer Underwriting Officer decisions, terms, requirements, and conditions of customers loan application and obtains customer acceptance.

+ Submit appropriate documentation to Compliance Department

+ Expedite the origination process by keeping all parties up to date on the status of the application and communicating new information relevant to the transition.

+ Follow up with customers, lenders, underwriters, and others as needed on any outstanding documents needed to satisfy underwriting requirements.

+ Research and resolves issues related to the application.

+ Sell features and benefits of products to customers, cross-sells other products and services, and encourages additional usage of bank deposit products.

+ Assist with projects within department as needed as well as cross train in other functions.

+ Participate in the collateral securing process and exception tracking including, but not limited to, titling and UCC filings

+ Assist customers in loan servicing needs including, but not limited to, initiating ACH/AFT payment schedules, skip-pay requests, change-in-terms

+ Communicate with customers via email, mail, and phone regarding loan delinquencies & collection/repossession efforts

+ Prepare customer related collection/repossession correspondence

+ Assist in preparation Charge-Off/Asset Transfer Packages for review/approval

+ Communicate with repossession companies to request services and monitor asset requisition status

+ Assist in bid process and sale of repossessed vehicles

+ Other duties as assigned/required by bank management

Job Requirements:

+ Bachelors degree preferred

+ Sales experience preferred

+ Excellent customer service required

+ Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

+ Excellent verbal/written, organization, and interpersonal communication skills.

+ Excellent customer service skills, internally and externally.

+ Excellent analytical, time management, mathematical, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.

+ Must be self-motivated with strong initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.

+ The ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs. up to a height of 3-4 ft.

+ Must have the ability to remain in stationary positions 75% of the work day.
