A Day in the Life

Our Peripheral Vascular Health operating unit is an exciting business, committed to helping people globally with peripheral vascular and venous disease to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. The Sr. Program Manager, Communications Generalist is a strategic thinker and motivated team collaborator with a proven ability to partner with leadership and cross-functional partners to create and execute strategic plans leveraging internal and external communications tactics to advance business results.

This individual must be change-agile and have deep domain expertise in integrated communications, including public relations, internal communications, change management, issues management, and executive thought leadership. The individual should be comfortable providing counsel and coaching to sr. leadership and working as part of a cross-functional team to support integrated communications programs.

This individual will partner closely with internal communications, corporate communications, government affairs, investor relations and PVH cross-functional partners to support integrated communications programs. Must be media and social media savvy and possess an outstanding attention to detail with a strong bias for action.

This role reports to the Sr. Director, Communications Peripheral Vascular Health. Preferred location for the role is in Minneapolis, MN.

Day in the life:

+ Serve as a business partner, working closely with the Sr. Director of PVH Communications to translate business strategy into integrated communications strategies that excite and align employees and drive business growth.

+ Lead and develop external communication programs for the PVH operating unit, collaborating with Integrated Marketing, Digital/Social Media, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, and Government Affairs as appropriate.

+ Identify and leverage storylines to garner media opportunities that bring the business strategy and Mission to life.

+ Develop and execute integrated, communications plans in partnership with colleagues across Medtronic global markets, including select product launches, healthcare congresses, select disease awareness and direct-to-patient campaigns, and other critical events and special projects.

+ Manage and execute internal communications activities that include producing content (all employee meetings, presentations, written communications, video, etc.).

+ Use expertise in internal relationship management to advise and influence those who wish to communicate and provide counsel and coaching to ensure communications are strategic and effective.

+ Partner with Corporate Communications to manage crisis and issues management for the operating unit.

+ Analyze effectiveness of communications efforts, govern and improve existing processes, and incorporate new technology and techniques to improve our communications with key stakeholders.

+ Write, create, and develop materials that support our content strategy in alignment with the Medtronic brand.

+ Manage communications contractors and external agencies to support projects as needed.

Must Have:

Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years in a communications role within a corporate or agency setting; OR Advanced Degree with 5+ years of experience.

Nice to Have:

+ Experience in cardiovascular or healthcare (i.e. regulated industry like medical device, pharma or biotech)

+ Experience in public relations (agency), corporate communications, journalism, or related field

+ Excellent research, writing and editing skills

+ Experience in change management communications

+ Exceptional verbal, writing, editing and organizational skills

+ Strong attention to detail

+ Strong project management skills

+ Executive presence and the ability to interact with leaders across the function and manage information with high levels of discretion

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization, including understanding and previous experience working in a matrix environment

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$139,200.00 - $208,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
