    Job Description

    General Scope of Duties

    Connecticut College, a member of NCAA Division III , the New England Small College Athletic Conference ( NESCAC ), ICSA , and NEISA , is conducting a search for an experienced sailing coach to lead its intercollegiate Women’s and Co-ed Sailing programs for the Fall 2025 semester. This is a visiting head coach position to cover a leave of absence, with the possibility of extension. Compensation includes a stipend for the fall semester.

     

    Located on the beautiful Thames River in New London, CT, the College offers an inspiring environment for both student-athletes and staff. Our sailing venue, the Kohn Waterfront, was completed in 2023 and features a state-of-the-art facility right on our campus.

    General Duties and Responsibilities

    + Develop and implement daily practice plans, conditioning, and skill development for both the Women’s and Co-ed Sailing teams.

    + Oversee roster management, team logistics, and daily operations.

    + Manage the competition schedule, make regatta decisions, and report results.

    + Assist with recruiting in collaboration with the Office of Admission.

    + Ensure compliance with NCAA , NESCAC , ICSA , and institutional policies.

    + Plan and supervise team travel with approval from the Director of Athletics. Must be able to drive 7- and 12-passenger vans.

    + Support the holistic development, well-being, and academic success of student-athletes.

    + Weekend availability is required throughout the Fall 2025 season.

     

    Education and Skills

     

    Experienced Sailing Coach with a minimum of one year of experience

    Salary Range $30,000

    Note
